There are basically 2 major upgrades since my last blog entry regarding the site features. The site's Collections area has been restructured to accommodate more engaging topics in order to encourage public participation.

For now, the Collections will list Boarding Schools with submenus of Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP and MRSM), Universities (local, overseas, and Malaysian Societies from around the globe), and Food Places (mamak, fast food, etc.) for the time being. More exciting categories will be introduced over time.

 I would appreciation any type of inputs such as questions, suggestions, ideas on how the criterias of these categories should be presented. My basic idea which will be implemented as soon as possible is to have maps and addresses display for location-driven listing like food stalls, restaurants and all that. Of course this is also appicable to Universities and others as well. 

Ah before I forgot, the site will be "rebranded" to serve for Malaysians education, foods and entertainment (coming soon!) audiences or enthusiasts.

On the other notes, I am debating with myself on including more site feature like forum or Yahoo! Answers type of feature. Which one of any kind of new features would you like the most? Wouldn't these features help us easier to ask questions or give suggestions regarding topics like Unis etc.?

This time I planned to be more consistent and productive with my online activity. Maybe I shall do a weekly blog updates and daily inputs for my Collections.

This week would be focused on completing the search of Malaysia Societies all around the world (or web I guess). Why not you guys join in and help me complete it as well :)

From the site features point of view, there will be lots lots of exciting features to be released and shared with you all soon!

 I'll share more sneak previews of these puppies later on.

 After many hours of scrapping papers that are full of crappy ideas, finally I came up with an answer to the question: What is pembaris? Who was it intended for?

Pembaris was initially motivated by the lack of reliable sources for Malaysian Student Association or Malaysian Student Society on the internet. Google does reply with some links but most of them are outdated sites. This frustrated me so much at the time and lead me to think about one stop solution site that collects all the working sites under one roof. Long story short, the collections grow to more than just Malaysian Society.

 I figured (finally) that the site is intended for students. Students and anything related to Malaysia; the site doesn't require one must be Malaysian to be a member but mostly it will covers anything that related to Malaysia.

Still doesn't get it huh? Okay how about I go through us all by 'sections' of the site, sounds good? Basically there are 2 sections in this site (yet to be 3 in near future).

Firstly, we have the Community.

 Okay I know it's no facebook or anything close to it but yeah, I serve it with a purpose in mind. The idea is to allow all of us (visitors, members, anyone who surfs this site) to have the freedom to connect with each other. It sorts of giving us the feeling of connecting or communicating with real people or real students I shall say. Good news is you could logged in with your Facebook Account, so there's no more hassle to sign up yet another social network.

Next would the Collections.

So here where it is all begins. The collections are far far from complete since we need you guys to contribute your findings to it. Be it a student blog or university group site, anything that worth the spotlight would do.

Maybe that's all for now. We collect and share, as a community we benefit. That's the basic idea so why not join in the community and start sharing.

A newcomer. I hate that title. It gets me everytime.

I've been in a lot of new places my entire life, and that has been my name for quite a number of time. It gets on my nerve everytime people look at me in some manner that I seemingly can't explain. I wouldn't dare saying that I've never had such a view at someone who is new around me, but I wouldn't care less either to look at the person from top to bottom just to make him/ her feel uneasy.

And that's why I've been feeling comfortable with internet networking. No hassle and I would never have to worry about people staring at me, giggling and whispering to the person next to them. And I am at my best state to announce it to strangers online that I'm new. Fresh and Green. 

It gets me everytime :)

p/s: Buah cempedak di luar pagar, ambil galah tolong jolokkan, saya budak baru belajar, kalau salah tolong tunjukkan. I'm in Love with Malaysia :)
