Hey all,

it's been awhile since the last update and man there are too much things are going on for this month. The reason I was away the other week is because of midwest games that been held in Southern Illinois University, Illinois. That was one heck of experience since we (PennState University) won the overall champion cup back and our soccer team broke our tradition by going into final (and lost haha).

Few days afterwards, I am going back to Malaysia on a long 19 hours of boredom and restless flight, reached home after 2 years being on the other side of the world.

For about a week and a half now, I had so many things going around that keep me busy off-the-net, which are:

  1. Euro '08
  2. visiting and catching up with family and friends
  3. eagerly waiting for internship
  4. eagerly waiting for the most anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4
  5. eagerly waiting and disappointed with the 3G iphone announced that 2 years contract is needed for US resident.

Plus, did I mentioned 3G iphone will be available on 70 countries but Malaysia is not included? Head to engadget for more details. Heck, go straight to apple.com/iphone for the best info.

ps: 11 June is so substantial with MGS 4 worldwide release, My Euro Spainish team fixture, and together with 3G iphone availability. Tell me, what so special about 06/11? Anyone see the prestige yet?

This is my first post discussing about Joomla! and be warned that I am no Joomla! expert or guru; in fact I experienced Joomla! just for about couple of months and created this site within 3 weeks of self-taught over forums after discovering Joomla! 1.5 which was just released at the time (and bundling some noob questions to a friend of mine, Fuqaha). I innocently picked J! 1.5 because I know for softwares or drivers, the most latest build would hint the best security updates and features. I never know that it has different frameworks or "spines" for each respective J! 1.0.x and J! 1.5.x. By the time I know J! 1.5 have lesser supports from 3rd-party developers, it's just a little too late for me to downgrade.

I am comparing Joomla! 1.5 native component Myblog with Joomla! 1.5 built-in default blogging system. This is a huge dilemma for me since my blogging space that is built for multiple blogger is not utilized as I imagined it. I was thinking a blog that has various entries from various Malaysians bloggers from all around the world. Sharing all sorts of things; be it tazkirah, road trip, recipes, and more. I never taught of being blogger or wordpress copycat. I would prefer one to blog on Wordpress if that's is all he/she doing the most. This space is more like a featured entry or something like that. Maybe I should do an invite or something Smile

Overview

Myblog is commercial product which means it doesn't come for free (duh!). It offers tons of features that I believe could enhance users experience visiting your site.

Joomla!'s default blog system is come with default Joomla! 1.5 installation. All other plugins can be found on JED.

Hi all,

the title says it all, yeah finally forum arrived here @ pembaris. If you read my previous post, I mentioned I prefer (and still do) full-featured forum. Anyway for the time being, I hope this will do as good as I always want it to be.

This forum solution is actually temporary given the time for having full-featured forum will takes longer time, so I decided why not having this forum if any of us have questions or concerns.

and oh, it's still beta because this forum (fireboard) is a bit buggy with the current Joomla version that I been using (J! 1.5).

And I will update more about the full-featured forum later in the future; maybe something like having poll which one would be the "people's choice award" between open-source forum that available on the net. I'll will be giving real forum examples so that we could decide which one should powered pembaris.com.

As for now, just head to forum if you got any concern.

I took a nap and saw pembaris.com's date on the top left corner; it says May 5 and I was furious. I thought I missed my final and I was actually dreamt of taking the exam!

Actually it's still May 4th here and I was relieved that the clock is messed up. Anyway back to study, pray for my success.

New features !

pembaris crew

Hey all,

I know I should be studying for my finals or write substantial entry, but dang it this site has whole lots of issues and bugginess. Anyway I will be studying starting tomorrow :).

I added couple stuffs here and there; try out search function on the top of the page, cool ajax engine on that.

ADDDED: ops how could I forget man. Now directory is open to public listing so feel free to add your website. Click and directory and there are couple of ways to add your links. Registration is still open nevertheless and I would definitely recommend registration.

Update: May 08

pembaris crew

Salam and hey guys,

I have just done with 2 of my finals and will be having 2 more next week. Hopefully once it's done I could put more time into this site with many more exciting stuffs to include and write about. So far nothing much noticeable updates for pembaris.com except few links and features installed.

As mentioned from previous month entry, from then now on I'll be focusing on adding stuffs more than bug-squashings. Forum is always on the top list but unfortunately there isn't ultimate solution for that for now.

I'll be adding new entries soon for sure (expect after next week), there will be huge event in the States (midwest 2008) so there's absolutely gonna an entry for that.

I am in need of opinions about the site logo, which one would u guys pick between the current one; compared to this one:

notice the "pembaris" is resized abit to fit within the black area of twin tower

Also, will changing "where malaysians connect the dots" to ".. Malaysians .." looks better to you guys? no?

Chapter 2 of the winter break 07 journey of mine; destination was OSU (Ohio State University).

First of all, I know I should have written more frequently (last Travel was like a month ago). I'll try to be more consistent in the future and manage my time better.

Okay back to the topic, so after waving Pittsburgh goodbye, here we go on our way to Columbus. It took couple of hours to reach there, so it meant couple hours of sleep for me :D

Here is our pilot with all his gadgets all over the dashboard. Thanks to him our road trip going smooth as it can (GPS really helps alot, especially with re-routing when lost or we missed exits and stuff).

Update for April 08

pembaris crew

Hi guys,

It's been awhile since my last entry and sorry if I kept any of you waiting (I guess not). Kind of busy with academic works, exams and stuff. If somehow you cared, everything is ok so far although one exam pissed us off.

Back to the topic, there are couple of updates since last month. There are couple of bug squashed, and of course some which obvious to pembaris.com's users or visitors are the "created" and "modified" time reported by nurinkhairi (thanks to you). Others might not change overall user experience since most of 'em are administrator's bugs.

For those who hate paragraphes, here are updates in point form:

  • "created" and "modified" bugs squashed to death (thanks nurin for report and mosets support team).
  • New Listing and Recently Updated Listing RSS feed are now working flawless.
  • now we have www in front of pembaris.com
  • we have taken out member lists for some good reasons that will be announce in the future
  • few "unimportant" bugs to users or visitors.

Peace be upon u guys and hello all,

Ok first pardon my English (and grammar). I suck to the bottom especially when it comes to story-telling. So bear with me guys.

and for those of you who are diggin' p.crew identity i mind you won't find any, because p.crew was the photographer ;)

This trip was made with my roommates and some friends during winter break last year (2007).

It tooks us some couple of hours to get to our destination. Credits to our friend's Garmin (GPS), arrived at our beloved friend Dillo nak minum Meelo (sorry dillo I can't resist the follow-up rhyme), at somewhere around dinner time (i know that varies; in this case was like 8-9 pm i dont remember).

The restaurant was about 15 minutes drive from Dillo's house.

Since it was raining that night, Dillo brought us to watch movie instead of cable car (at first he suggested couple of times, but we argued Pittsburgh won't be viewable in rain, plus we were tired).

Great Website

ijat i think this web is great and has great potential to move forward. credit to the developer/founder. my suggestion is you narrow down the scope to make this great website more successful. i think its too broad.
